EXPLORE STEIGEN AND LOFOTEN
Steigen features spectacular mountains with views of fjords, the sea, and the Lofoten Wall.
Combine a trip here with a few nights in Lofoten!

DAY 1: ARRIVAL
You arrive at Bodø Airport and take the express boat from the city quay to Nordskot. Upon arrival at Nordskot, John Magne will meet you and take you across to Grøtøy and the beautiful Villa Haugen. Grøtøy was once home to one of Nordland’s most influential trading posts and is full of fascinating history. Check in and enjoy a fantastic dinner prepared with local ingredients. After dinner, John Magne and Unni are happy to share the history of Villa Haugen and the surrounding area.

DAY 2 & 3: STEIGEN
Steigen is often referred to as “Nordland’s best-kept natural secret,” featuring a great variety of landscapes – spectacular mountains, fjord views, the open sea, and the Lofoten wall. Use the days to explore the area, either on foot on the mainland or on a guided kayaking tour.
In the afternoons, relax in a warm hot tub before enjoying dinner.

DAY 4: LOFOTEN
Enjoy a refreshing breakfast and spend the remaining time at Villa Haugen exploring the small island. John Magne will take you by boat in plenty of time for the fast ferry across Vestfjorden to Svolvær. Here, you’ll stay overnight in traditional rorbuer (fishermen’s cabins).

DAY 5: TROLLFJORDEN
Today, join a spectacular RIB (rigid inflatable boat) tour into the Trollfjord. Along the way, there’s a great chance to see sea eagles up close!
After the tour, travel to Nusfjord, a peaceful and secluded fishing village in Lofoten. Here, you’ll experience the very essence of Lofoten!

DAY 6 & 7: NUSFJORD
Spend your days in the fishing village of Nusfjord. Join a fishing trip aboard the traditional Lofoten boat, Elltor. Along the way, you’ll learn about the unique fishing traditions of Lofoten from a local skipper. Expect to catch cod, pollock, halibut, and wolffish.
We also recommend a guided tour through Nusfjord’s historic center. Here, fish are still hung to dry as they have been for generations, and you can enjoy excellent meals at one of the local restaurants. You’ll stay in authentic rorbuer, thoughtfully adapted for modern luxury and comfort.
