RØROS

A journey to Røros is a journey into history. This old mining town, with its well-preserved wooden houses, is one of Europe’s oldest of its kind and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking through its streets feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by centuries of culture and traditions.

CHRISTMAS TOWN RØROS

Røros is especially magical in winter, known for its traditional Christmas market and the lively Røros Fair each February. The sparkling decorations, reindeer, sleigh rides, and bustling market stalls make it one of Norway’s coziest destinations in the darker months. Here, the spirit of an old-fashioned Christmas is alive and well. And remember that in winter, a kick sled is almost mandatory for getting around town. Just be sure to dress warmly – Røros is among the coldest towns in Norway.
