DAY 1: ARRIVAL

You arrive at Tromsø Airport and travel approximately 50 minutes to the beautiful island of Sommarøy. Sommarøy was one of Elin’s favorite places during her studies in Tromsø. Between October and March, it is also one of the best spots to experience the Northern Lights!

Visit Nordlysparken (Northern Lights Park), just a 15-minute walk from your hotel. Here, Halvar has built the park stone by stone with his own hands, using materials recycled from the old school and other buildings around Sommarøy.

With very little light pollution on the small island, you can simply step out onto your balcony when the Northern Lights appear and enjoy the colorful dance in the sky.

DAY 2: WHALE SAFARI

From November to January, some of the world’s largest and most majestic marine animals move from the deep ocean to the coast of Troms in search of herring. Humpback whales, orcas, fin whales, and porpoises gather in large groups, performing a feeding dance like nothing you’ve ever seen.

You can experience these incredible creatures up close either in a RIB boat or aboard a hybrid boat partially powered by electricity – an unforgettable adventure.

DAY 3: TROMSØ

Day for your own leisure in Tromsø. Take the cable car up the mountain for stunning views over the city.

In the afternoon, visit a Sami reindeer herding family in Tromsø who have lived and worked with reindeer for generations. You will be introduced to 300 reindeer, experience Sami culture and traditions, and enjoy a memorable reindeer sled ride. Finish with traditional Sami food inside a gamme (Sami hut) and hear stories around the fire.

DAY 4: DOG SLEDDING

You will be picked up at your hotel in Tromsø and get ready for a day full of excitement, speed, and mastery. You’re going dog sledding!

At the dog yard outside Tromsø, you’ll be greeted by eager huskies ready for the adventure. Travel through landscapes surrounded by towering mountains and deep valleys, making this safari a true Arctic Norwegian experience. Expect smiles and rosy cheeks!

Back from the adventure, enjoy warm soup and drinks.

DAY 5: DEPARTURE

After breakfast and check-out from your centrally located hotel in Tromsø, it’s time for your journey home.
