ABOUT GET NORWAY TRAVEL

GET Norway Travel is part of GET Africa Travel, which for over 23 years has created tailor-made dream journeys for Norwegians to Southern Africa. Building on this experience, we now bring our knowledge of Norwegian travel habits, personal service, and destination expertise into a unique concept here in Norway.

The idea of tailoring journeys in Norway is not new. Back in 2011, Elin and Graham traveled to Svalbard and began imagining extreme journeys that could connect south to north. The challenges of 2020 also opened opportunities, allowing us to finally realize our dream of creating unforgettable travel experiences in Norway.

Plan your next safari, hike, or exploration with us – whether in Africa or Norway!

Graham Paton

Owner & General Manager

Graham was born and raised in Zululand, South Africa, and has extensive experience in the tourism industry. Among his many projects, he managed the construction of the renowned Sea Cliff Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Graham’s favorite:

“Without a doubt, Svalbard! It offers nature and safari experiences that surpass absolutely everything else. The midnight sun means there’s no need to sleep – you can experience adventure around the clock. Seeing a polar bear in its natural element is the greatest highlight of my safari journeys so far. In 2011, Elin and I joined an expedition to Svalbard. It was raw, wild, and unlike anything else I’ve ever encountered.”

Elin Fosselie Paton

Owner & General Manager

Elin is from Sørlandet, southern Norway. After several years as a lower secondary school teacher, her love for travel took her to South Africa in 1998, where she met Graham. She worked as a guide in Kristiansand for five years before co-founding GET Africa Travel with Graham in 1999.

Elin’s favorite:

“Troms and Finnmark. I studied in Tromsø for three years and traveled extensively throughout the region – from idyllic Sommarøy to the rugged North Cape. Yet, it is the people who make these experiences so special. Honest, warm, and open, they share not only their stories but also a part of themselves.”

Eivind Stigen Holter

Marketing Manager and Travel Curator

Eivind grew up in Oslo but spent much of his childhood in Zimbabwe. With studies in tourism and work experience in southern Norway, he joined the GET Africa team in 2018. His passion for travel and deep knowledge of Africa make him an invaluable part of the team.

Eivind’s favorite:

“My favorite is Finnmark, from Alta to Kirkenes. Dog sledding under the northern lights is an almost unreal experience, and the wild beauty of this region is truly unforgettable. My clear highlight, however, is king crab fishing in Varangerfjorden.”

Silje - profil

Silje Eriksen Havn

Travel Curator

Silje is from Gudbrandsdalen and studied tourism at the University of Agder. After six years in Kristiansand, she moved to Durban and joined the GET Africa Travel team in 2018. Her background and enthusiasm make her an expert at curating meaningful journeys.

Silje’s favorite:

“My favorite is Nasjonalparkriket (National Park Kingdom), with its six national parks. In summer, I love hiking, going on a musk ox safari, or exploring the local village culture. But winter here is truly magical! Minus degrees, clear skies, and dog sledding in Jotunheimen, which I think everyone should experience at least once.”

She spent several years working with the Zulufadder project in Eshowe, South Africa, before joining the GET Africa team in 2014. She is now based in Bergen, where she continues to share her love for authentic travel experiences.

Anne-Beth’s favorite:

“Well, Bergen is known as the ‘Gateway to the Fjords,’ and this is where I feel most at home. I love exploring the small villages nestled in the fjords, each filled with history and character – all just a scenic drive from Bergen.”
