SVALBARD
Raw, real, and endlessly beautiful. Svalbard offers the ultimate Arctic adventure – a land of polar climate, glaciers, blue sea ice, and unique wildlife. Here, extreme seasons shape life: endless daylight in summer, months of polar night in winter.
An Arctic adventure like no other awaits on Svalbard. Here you step into a world of glaciers, blue sea ice, extreme light variations, and unique wildlife – framed by a silence so profound it creates a calm found almost nowhere else on earth.
This is the polar bear’s kingdom. Even if you don’t see one, the thought is always close – a reminder that we are visitors in their realm. In Longyearbyen, it is not unusual to see mothers pushing a pram with a rifle slung over their shoulder. Life here has its own extraordinary rhythm.
Our own journey began when Elin and Graham visited Svalbard in the summer of 2011. Ten years later, Silje and Eivind returned for their own Arctic expedition. Through strong local partners, we continue to share the wonders of this unique place with travellers who seek the extraordinary.
HIGHLIGHTS

DOG SLEDDING
Feel the pull of eager huskies as you explore the Arctic wilderness by dog sled. The stillness, the light, the raw landscape, and the joyful dogs make this an experience you will never forget. No expertise required – only a spirit for adventure (though beware: you may get hooked!)

SNOWMOBILE SAFARI
Glide across frozen fjords and snow-clad mountains on a snowmobile. The landscape shifts through endless shades of white, blue, and pink. Stop along the way to breathe in the silence and let the Arctic vastness sink in.

NORTHERN LIGHTS
Few places on earth offer such a chance to see the northern lights as Svalbard. At 78° north, the winter sky often comes alive with ribbons of green and purple – a sight that stays with you forever.

ISFJORD RADIO
Almost as remote as it gets, Isfjord Radio is reachable only by boat in summer or by dog sled or snowmobile in winter. From the outside, the 1933 radio station looks rugged and weather-beaten – but step inside and you’ll discover a surprisingly stylish and welcoming hideaway.
THE SEASONS OF SVALBARD
The very name “Svalbard” means “the land of cold coasts,” first mentioned in Icelandic texts as far back as the 1100s. Despite its latitude, the climate is milder than expected, with average temperatures of -14°C in winter and 6°C in summer. Each season here reveals a different side of the Arctic.
There are three main seasons on Svalbard: Northern lights winter, Sun winter and Polar summer. Each season is unique and offers different experiences. Choose “right” season considering your wishes.
- Northern lights winter (October – March): As October ends, the sun sets for the last time, and Svalbard slips into a season of magical twilight. The polar night is illuminated by the northern lights, until February, when the first blush of daylight paints the sky in pink and purple hues.
- Sun winter (March – May/June): With the return of the sun comes renewed energy. This is the perfect time for Arctic adventures – dog sledding, snowmobiling, and long days outdoors in the dazzling white light.
- Polar summer (May/June – September): The midnight sun reigns, bathing the archipelago in endless daylight. The landscape bursts into life with colourful Arctic flora, nesting birds, and thriving wildlife. Explore by boat, get close to calving glaciers, and meet the walruses along the shore.
