ARCTIC ADVENTURES IN SVALBARD
Svalbard is raw, real, and endlessly beautiful. Here, you are in the realm of the polar bear, and an Arctic adventure awaits!
Below we have created two travel itineraries, one for each season: the Sunny Winter and the Polar Summer.
ITINERARY FOR THE POLAR SUMMER
Experience Svalbard in the beautiful Polar Summer. Your journey begins in Longyearbyen before you travel by boat to Isfjord Radio and spend a few days in the Arctic! The Polar Summer lasts from May/June to September.

DAY 3: ISFJORD RADIO
How about a refreshing morning swim in the ocean followed by coffee in the sauna before breakfast? After breakfast, packed lunches are prepared, and you’ll join a hike either south along the coast or toward Linnévatnet.
Lunch is enjoyed outdoors, while Svalbard reindeer graze nearby. If you’re lucky, you might see beluga whales swimming in the fjords. Back at the station, the sauna is ready before another exquisite dinner is served.

DAY 4: BOAT SAFARI
We challenge the bravest of you to take a morning dip in the Arctic waters – with a polar bear guard on watch!
After breakfast, it’s time for a boat safari. In a RIB boat you travel east along the coast, crossing Isfjorden. From here, the course is set for Alkhornet, where thousands of seabirds nest every summer. In Trygghamna, you go ashore for an expedition lunch before continuing to the Esmark Glacier in Ymerbukta. If you’re lucky, you might spot whales, seals, or even the king of the Arctic – the polar bear!
Back at the station, enjoy a coffee before heading back to civilization and the “big city” of Longyearbyen, where the Basecamp Hotel will host you for the night.

DAY 5: ACTIVITY IN LONGYEABYEN
Spend the day exploring Longyearbyen or join one of the many day activities offered. How about a boat trip to the abandoned Russian settlement of “Pyramiden”, summer dog sledding on wheels, or a RIB excursion along the coast in search of marine wildlife and calving glaciers?

End the day with an evening with dinner at the well-known restaurant, Huset.
